Das US-Portal Vzaar bietet einen Online-Service an, mit dem eBay-Verkäufer ihre Auktionen um selbst produzierte Video-Clips anreichern können:
"Vzaar allows users to upload and insert videos into their eBay listings. Once you’ve uploaded a video, you choose which of your listings you would like to insert it into and you’re on your way. Additionally, each video features an embed code, so sellers can share it in the other spots they use to promote their listings."
Der Distributions-Dienst (Motto: "Shoot, Upload, Sell") richtet sich in erster Linie an Powerseller. Für diese ist der Service kostenpflichtig (ab fünf US-Dollar im Monat). Gelegenheits-Verkäufer dagegen (maximal 20 Video-Einbindungen pro Monat) müssen nichts für den Video-Dienst bezahlen.
Das auf den eBay-Handel spezialisierte Online-Portal Tamebay.com zeigt sich von Vzaar schwer beeindruckt:
"Last week there were 10,000 listings on eBay with vzaar videos in them, from professionally produced glossies, to short films made on phone cameras."
Nach Einschätzung von Sue Bailey - Powerseller und Tamebay-Autorin - können eBay-Händler bereits mit wenig Aufwand bei Auktionen mit Vzaar-Videos punkten:
"You don’t have to spend thousands on actors and lighting and studios. Sometimes, just picking up the camera and spending two minutes filming is all you need. You just need a little bit of imagination. Don’t be afraid to get in front of the camera and talk about what you’re selling."
In Deutschland gibt es seit August mit HMPF.de ebenfalls ein Online-Portal, über das sich Video-Clips in eBay-Auktionen einbinden lassen.
